Watch bats emerge in Washington Park. An Illinois State Museum educator will present information on urban Illinois bats and show how bat detection technology can help study these fascinating creatures of the night. Participants will walk through the park looking for emerging and hunting bats.

Please register in advance by contacting Elizabeth Bazan at (217) 558-6696 or events@illinoisstatemuseum.org. Participants will meet near the playground in Washington Park (off South Grand). This program is presented by the Illinois State Museum and the Springfield Park District as part of the Urban Bat Project in collaboration with the Organization for Bat Conservation.
